Quality Movement in Turkey and Turkish National Quality Award

The following text mainly deals with the implementation of TQM philosophy in Turkey from a Quality Society and Quality Award based perspective. Though a description of quality implementation on a countrywide basis needs a much broader analysis, including conformity assessment, quality standards, etc.; this would need a much more detailed explanation. Therefore, I tried to limit this paper to the excellence and award implementation perspective.

Quality Progress in Turkish Economy - 1980-2008

Turkish economy has positively experienced effects of the implementation of quality concepts from late 80’s to 2008. This time frame also underlines significant political, cultural, social and economical changes, some beneficial and some not. These changes have been influenced by regional conditions, adaptation to the criteria of the EU standards, and internal developments.
